"Drop a Warbanner on leveling up, giving you great strength."— Pickup Text
Warbanner Shipping Details.png

The Warbanner is a common utility item in Risk of Rain.[1]

When the player levels up, a Warbanner is dropped at the player's feet. While within the banner's aura, player characters gain 30% attack speed and move speed, gain 4 damage, and heal 1% max HP per second (though the heal is missing from the description). Overlapping banners only stack for the heal effect. Characters under the effect will have a yellow banner displayed over their heads.

What is it? Well, are you blind? It's obviously a warbanner from the war of 2019 from one of the rebel groups. Yes, maybe a little overdramatic, but inspiring nonetheless. They say - they say that warbanners won the war for them. Gave them... magical strength.

Tactics

  • As auras from multiple banners won't stack, placing them apart to cover a wider area is more effective than having them in one place.
  • Items with on-hit effects (like AtG Missile Mk. 1) and items that have a % damage effect (like Tesla Coil) will benefit from the increased attack speed and increased flat damage.

Bugs

  • If the player has less than 100 maximum health, the banner will keep healing for 0 health.
  • The buff effect is applied a second or so after entering the banner radius, and goes away a second after leaving it.
  • In a multiplayer game, if a player levels up after dying, a banner will still be placed.
