Brainstalks

The Brainstalks is an unlockable Rare item in Risk of Rain 2.

After the player kills an elite enemy, all their abilities lose cooldowns for 4 seconds, with each subsequent stack adding 4 seconds to the effect. This means they can be activated repeatedly as long as the character is not in the middle of performing another, uninterruptible one, such as Eviscerate.

When the effect activates, the screen is tinted pink to better notify the player it is active. The stalks also spark when this happens.

Completing the Challenge Deicide unlocks this item.

Trivia

• The item appears as a brain with what look like brightly colored cordyceps fungi sprouting out of it. The cordyceps are famous for their unique form of parasitism, growing inside and through an insects head. Some cordyceps even affect the insects behavior.
• The stalks grow out of the Acrids chin, rather than the top of it's head.
